A husband-to-be was about to put a garland around his bride when he collapsed, having an epileptic seizure. As he was taken to hospital, the bride chose a man from her brother-in-law’s family to take his place. And he agreed.

The Times of India has reported that the husband-to-be had not informed his bride that he was epileptic. Upon returning from hospital and discovering his bride married, the family lodged a complaint with the Police.

The complaint has since been withdrawn, presumably as there’s not a lot they can do!

Nicola Whitley, expert divorce Solicitor, says, “As Solicitors we talk about full and frank disclosure being vital as part of the divorce process. Perhaps this needs to be explicitly extended to the pre-marriage process, too. Although, I’m not sure this bride would have made it to the ceremony if she had known that her husband to be had a condition such as epilepsy.”
